Until enough people demand fundamental changes in the way the NYPD
handles unwitnessed track deaths the police will continue to
automatically rule out homicide, blaming the victims for their own
deaths. The subway system will continue as a virtual "camera
free" zone, an arrangement beloved by two groups of people, the
criminals that prey on riders and the MTA lawyers.

Family and friends of victims.
Family and friends of victims.
Anyone who knew a victim of a so-called "accident" in the subway is encouraged to add a comment. Write as much or as little as you like. Do so anonymously. We will not divulge your contact information to anyone.
Insiders and ex-insiders.
A few years ago a close friend got into a conversation with the driver of her New York taxi. He had formerly worked in the Brooklyn headquarters of the New York City Transit Authority and proceeded to tell her that the public "had no idea" how many people were killed in the subway. It was, he said "like a war zone."
There are lots of other ex-employees of the NYC transit bureaucracy, people who had access to internal reports, or who talked to employees who did. I have a message for those people: Why remain silent?
This site provides an opportunity for you to share your insider knowledge without revealing your identity. Just tell us a little of what you know in our comments. There's no need to use your own name and we will protect your email address. Tell us something you know in one comment and if you know a lot more save that for the next day.
The same message goes for current transit employees. If you know something say something!

Contacts with journalists.
Anyone who adds a comment or who emails me can be assured that I will not share their contact information with anyone. However, if a journalist contacts me because he/she wants to contact a particular commenter this is what I will do: I will email the commenter and provide him/her with the journalist's contact information. If the commenter wants to contact the journalist he/she can do so, or they can ignore the request. In other words, you would be in complete control.
Letters to editors or reporters.
Anyone who agrees with my conviction that NYPD routinely ignores the possibility of homicide in unwitnessed track deaths is encouraged to share their opinion with the media. Even if a letter is not published it will be read internally and will inform the recipients that you, for one, are not bamboozled.
